What is a partner visa?

The visa allows one to migrate to Australia on the basis of either married or de-facto relationship with an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. This visa must be applied from outside Australia.

The subclass 309 (temporary) is granted first. All applicants for the subclass 100 visa must hold a 309 visa and continue to be in a relationship with their partners.
